Methylene Chloride Exposure Control Plan Protocol

In compliance with the UT San Antonio Methylene Chloride (DCM) Workplace Chemical Protection Program (WCPP), all spaces and/or groups that conduct operation involving methylene chloride at or above 0.1% concentration, must complete an operation-specific Exposure Control Plan.

Please specify in detail the efforts to comply with the requirements defined in the WCPP.

Work with Methylene Chloride must not begin until approval from the Chemical Safety Committee is granted.

Compliance and Maintaining the ECP:

Each Space/Group must review and update the ECP as necessary and at least every 5 years to reflect any significant changes to the exposure control requirements. All revised copies must be submitted to either the chemical hygiene officer or Lab Safety. Each Principal Investigator/Group Supervisor is responsible for ensuring lab/space personnel follow the protocols described in this plan and report any non-compliance.
